It's SAD season...so let's do a little mini-challenge!
SAD stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder...if this ain't your thing, well, these are still good tips.

Listen, everyone has a lot going on.
Some of us are battling BIG things, some of us are just trying to withstand the onslaught of horrid news. A lot of us are juggling both.
And now, to add insult to injury, here comes LESS SUNLIGHT. What the actual fuck?!
So, if your body and mind don’t love it getting dark at 3 pm (again, WTF?!), this challenge is for you. And, btw, this is for everyone.
This little challenge is meant for us to survive the dark…but how about we even thrive? I KNOW. THRIVE. How audacious, right?
I am going to post every other day-ish with some ideas….some you will already be doing…some will be brand new. Please comment what YOU are doing or what’s working or what isn’t….and I will pick a winner at the end of the little challenge and send you a little something.
The winner will be a SUBSCRIBED stacker, so sign up now for all of the extra benefits that come to paying a tiny bit of money for this Stack.
NOW, for the FIRST challenge!
I am swinging for the fences here, but the BEST thing I have done for my SAD is QUIT BOOZE.
I know, we all love that whiskey/red wine in front of a fire vibe…but alcohol really fucks with our wellbeing.
The first three sips are HEAVEN, and then, welp…it takes us DOWN.
It messes with a lot of good things in our lives: connecting with others, keeping commitments to ourselves, our meds, our weight, our sleep, our workouts, our work performance and yes, our parenting. And the effects are worse for women (sigh).
And when it is dark and cold, booze is a delicious way to slip away from stress, exhaustion, and sadness…but it just doesn’t deliver on any of its promises. And these aren’t opinions…it’s just science. I wish it weren’t true….but…it is.
So, the CHALLENGE:
Can you quit this winter?
Can you decrease the amount?
Can you not drink during the week?
Can you get a group of friends and quit together?
Can you quit for good? Or try?
Let me know what you think of this…I know…I am starting bigger than “light candles…” but like, for real…you are worth it. And I am not asking for the world…even decreasing the amount will make a difference.
Love you. xoxo
