True Story: I took a values sorting quiz and I really wanted my top values to be: generosity, kindness, compassion, justice.
Nope.
I will admit before God and all of you, my top two values were
1. laughter
&
2. beauty.
Yup. I was so horrified, I scrapped the quiz and took it again until my top values aligned with what I found to be acceptable. “Joy” and “Empathy.”
And then I realized that my main values were now “lying” and “inauthenticity.”
Sigh.
SO.
I had to accept that I prize laughter and beauty above all values, and I am okay with it now. In fact, I fully embrace it.
My coaching practice is about connection and education, but it is about LAUGHTER. My secret power is helping all parents see that they are doing better than they think, and laughter is often the grease that makes things a little easier.
And my makeup business is about art, and helping every human feel special and BEAUTIFUL. Not in a yucky, vapid way, but in a fun “life is short” way.
The Challenge this week is to find your idea of beauty and laughter!
Beauty can be joy-spotting in nature while walking (a twofer for combatting SAD!)
Laughter can be doing peek-a-boo with the toddler in the line for coffee.
Beauty can be a new red gloss (this is my favorite).
Laughter can be watching The Golden Girls with popcorn and a real Coke.
Beauty can be visiting your local art studio or perusing the art in your kiddo’s school
Laughter can be calling an old friend and sharing your favorite stories.
Drop your ideas and what works for you or your questions in the comments!
Love you!
