Summer. Is. Coming.

And the people are tired.

And I mean parents. We are tired (maybe some of you aren’t tired, and to you
I salute).

Your children, at almost any age or neurodiversity, can be of assistance this summer.

And it is worth every effort to assist them with this learning because they need to know how to work.

For the benefit of the household, the family, themselves, and yes, you.

Humans are doers. We do not do well when we are inactive and useless.

Yes, we have realized that “hustle-culture” and lack of self-care has been damning, but the opposite is no-good either.

And many parents are doing too much for their kids.

I am not blaming you for this. Our culture has made it easy for our kids to kick back, and harder for them to take on appropriate responsibility. You didn’t wake up, like, “I am going to raise this useless kid
and wait on them hand and foot.” No. Our lack of time, our overstuffed schedules, are exhausted children, all of it equals children doing less.

What can you do this summer to move the needle on this?
