I knew exactly when I needed to leave the Catholic Church. I was pregnant with my first child, 20 years ago and, as I watched the news of reported abuse after abuse, the penny dropped. The abuse of children, knowing I was pregnant with my own, fueled my anger and broke my heart.

I could not support my Church anymore. No more services. No more hope. And no matter what, no more money.
